Suspended Veils was a studio project completed for the 2014 ASCE-AISC Steel Competition. The prompt was to create a border crossing station between two countries. The project is planned on the Russia-China boarder in the city of Blagoveshchensk, Russian, directly across the Amur River from Heihe, China. Since the two cities already had an established relationship, the goal of the project was to not infringe on what was in place, but to add onto it. The design works to visually connect to the Heihe station while also acting as an anchor point for Blagoveshchensk's planned Golden Mile promenade.
